Held Ground is a curated group exhibition exploring how artists engage with place, material, and time. The exhibition centers on work shaped by regional influence, hand-based practice, and processes that reflect care, endurance, and attentiveness rather than speed or spectacle.

This exhibition seeks artists whose work holds space quietly — through material integrity, repetition, labor, and lived experience.

  • Painting, drawing, encaustic, fiber

  • Sculpture, mixed media

  • Installation (small-scale)

  • Photography rooted in place

  • Process-driven or material-based work

  • Place and land

  • Repair, mending, endurance

  • Regional identity

  • Slowness, repetition, and care

  • The intelligence of materials

Who Should Apply
Artists working from a strong sense of place, process, or cultural context. Emerging and established artists welcome.

Submission Requirements

  • 5–10 images of recent work

  • Short artist statement (max 250 words)

  • Bio or CV
